Just noticed that this programme is a give away in this months PCPro in the UK and all you have to do is to registrar with Daz to get serial number. Before I put this in my machine is there a better similar app that does the same job for free?

Really good deal for the price... they must feel cofident in v6 to offer up such goodies... there is a difference between their pro versions and the standard versions, but either way, one would do most subd modeling with a more dedicated app such as wings3d or silo, etc. then import into Carrara for all the rest of 3d fun, so maybe you are minus a render option, multi processor support, etc, with this standard version... but still, wow, lot's of fun to be had with such an app...
wonder what the upgrade to v6 pro is, from this offering?
