Hi Mark,

Nothing to do with Xtreme is ever simple enough to be able to say "yes" or "no"...

A macro recorder (and the closely related scripting support) would be a great feature but would take a lot of time and effort to implement.

I'm sure it's on the list and its bang-per-buck gets considered against all the other thousands of possible features.

My eyes, after several years of cruising porn sites, are pretty much shot and one improvement I would welcome greatly is the facility to enlarge, or by other means make more discernable, the point and curve handles.

These, compared with other graphics packages I have used are extremely (a less kind person may even say ridiculously) small and are to me barely visible.

Further to Mark's point about macro's, I for several years used MacDraw, which came free with the Mac at the time, and later, Appleworks for Windows, which was really cheap. Both of these included simple and effective macro facilities which leveraged their useabily to an enormous degree. What about plugins?

Having been so critical, I must say that I really admire you for your genius with bare metal programming, which it obviously required to make this thing so blisteringly fast. Ten year old machine code can't be much fun to maintain either.

Yes, Xtreme is a fantastic piece of software and obviously great for general vector work, but few users seem to see macros/actions as more desirable than other improvements. With their limited resources it seems Xara has to go with what gets "the most bang for a buck" and leave the 'bells and whistles' to bigger companies.

I've tried very many third party macro recorders with Xtreme, but they are usually more trouble than they are worth. Most of the problems with these occur because of the need to use a mouse recorder. They would be of more use if there were hotkeys for ALL (and I do mean all) of Xtremes functions, but that isn't so either.

I still use Xtreme, but no where near as much as I would with macros/actions. Adobes action palette is so simple and powerful, I just can't give it up.

I googled "adobe illustrator" and these adds were in the right hand collumn. I think they are called "Google adwords". Seems strange that google allows them to do that. Anyway, thanks for answering my query.
