Well, Mike I do not remember seeing anything, so unless somebody older and wiser, okay even wiser steps forward...

I would just reload xara... Takes all of 5 minutes... I would try loading over the top again, before a remove and reinstall.

    Hi Mike
What exactly's wrong with your colour Pallete? If you open a standard Xara Template, you should get the 'normal' colour pallete.

I believe he's refering to some drawings having a different color bar across the bottom. I also experienced that at times the palette bar being 'reduced' in colors based on the number of colors currently in the picture. Is there a command/setting to return the palette to it's original appearance?

It has happened to me also... it happens when I open directly in Xara a TIFF or GIF image with a smaller color range than the "standard" color palete...

Under the Window menu - the sub menu of show printer colours has an option for screen colours - not sure what this will do in a particular case but it does restore from the other options on that menu.

Perhaps you are in full screen mode...if so you have a reduced color palette...if you then go back to normal mode the color palette stays reduced. The only way I have found to bring it back is to exit Xara after going out of Full Screen mode and then restarting the program...

Could this be what you are refering to?

That's not such a dumb question seeing as none of us can answer it :-)

Perhaps if Charles passes through he will have the answer.

I think Mike's question is simpler than that... but I still don't know the answer.

As you create colors, their order on the line changes. Local and named colors are taken in to account when using the sort feature in the color gallery. A bad "sort" at 3 am can also turn the color line in to a mess...

    - You can't perform undo on color gallery changes...
    - The changes are saved with the file you are working on... (and on templates, you re-save) So re-installing doesn't help.

I'm sure Mike will clarify, but I think the question he asks is: how do you get the color line (and the colors) to default to their original positions?

There is a "sort" function in the Color Gallery... but haven't been able to use it to default the color positions.

The only workaround I can think of, is to select all, and copy your drawing to a clean template... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
