MacPro is cheaper even in my part of the world with currency exchanges and many levels of mark up than the comparative PC.

I suppose that when the Mac ver of Xtreme is ready the good folks at Xara will be offering a generous cross platform upgrade ?? :-)

I'm afraid MS will not be getting anymore money out of me, they had a good run, I started withh Dos 2.2 !

A few weeks ago I upgraded an old Pentium III 1GHz to the latest Core2Duo. Motherboard and CPU didn't cost me more than $275. That is for me the one and only reason never to buy a Mac (I also have to feed 6 people )

I bought a new computer just before the vista release.
Couldn't resist 1024 MB ram, 200 GB hard drive for $350
considering my old system was happily running win 98!
I will be getting a free upgrade to vista but I don't think
I'm even going to install it with all the bad press I've read
about this new OS! Anyone want to buy it

Vista sounds like Win ME did. All talk and little real advantage. All at a price of course. Vance Packard wrote a book called The Hidden Persuaders many years back, about planned obsolescence. Seems Microsoft are aware of the concept.
Think I'll stick with XP for now, and learn Linux -- perhaps ubuntu.
