Selected Text Color Change Changed?

In XaraX: (I thought) When I select a part of text object (for example one word in a sentence), then I select the selector tool, the selection is still active but not grayed out as a selection. When I then choose the color editor I could easily change the color of that selected part and directly see it changing.

Now in Xtreme the selection stays grayed out and when changing color you don't actually see the color change unless you deselect your selection.

Am I gone mad or is this changed, and why? It was better seeing the actual color change. anyone?

I don't know what you've done, but Xtreme still works that way for me.

same problem here - it's greyed out and I think it always was and it has nothing to do with windows color setings as I thaught before.
