    Default Car Tutorials

    Hey all,

I have been interested in doing a car in Xara for awhile now but haven't been able to do it myself. Has anyone done a tutorial on how to remake a car in xara? I was trying to do the below Saleen S7 without any success. If some one could point me in the right direction or maybe even create one using this image it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,

Has posted a few nice car files in the Xara gallery, they might help to get you started, one thread has the .xar file that you could load and then look at to see how he does his cars.

When you think about it, a car is no different than any other object. By following the many tutorials and workbooks in the xara xone, you develope the skills for shiny metal, glass, chrome etc. that would be my suggestion.

Thanks guys, that car is awesome in its realism, but of next to no help due to the fact that I have no idea as to go about doing it, looks like I will have to follow Tims advice and try using metal looks from tutes and the rest. If anyone is thinking about doing a car tho I would love for someone to do a tute out of it.

    Abigeus,
Attached is the Xara file I showed in the Xaraxone tutorial. I'm sorry I don't have the photo to this drawing, but you can take it apart and see how I did various aspects of the drawing including the layers. Egg is right about the basics. Hope this helps.

    Ron,

It was very generous of you to share your car drawing so that we can break it apart to see how you build your beautiful cars.

On behalf of all your fellow Xarians...Thanks!

    Thanks Zee,
You're quite welcome. I am not an artist, I don't create, I copy. A lot of you guys here are truly creative and I wish I had your skills and creativity. But Xara allows me to copy images I really enjoy, (cars obviously being foremost) and to learn techniques to simulate the photos various dynamics. I have a lot of improvement to make, and it's a long and slow process for my weak mind.
    Best Regards,
    ron

Ron, I'm right there with ya bud. I can create from a copied picture, always have. Even back in middle school and high school in art class I loved to take a picture and 'blow it up' so to speak. Make a grid over the picture and then draw that same grid, scaled up, on a bigger piece. I never have been the creative type for some reason, but have been awed and inspired by those that can. Many people here do some fantastic work and I am humbled in their presence. This car is a fabulous rendition though, and although it may be copied it still takes work and dedication to achieve the "masterpiece" :P.. Many thanks for allowing us to pick this apart and learn .
