Wolfgang

You inspired me to try again. I still cannot create a blend of a blended shape without converting it to editable shapes, however.

    Fun Nicole.

I sent you a tip for uploading only one image from your page.

Great Mini-Tut Gary. I became curious about the possibility of blending a blend. It can be done, but may not be useful. A blend between two blends extends the ending point of one to the ending point of another.

    Great image Wolfgang.

Nicole, weird is nice sometimes isn't it

You could try individually grouping the blends before blending between them. (i.e. click on one blend - group it, and then click on the other and group that) I was experimenting with different blends a while ago.

I've just had another look at what I had done and so far I've found this gives you the same effect as blending between two blends that have been converted to shapes.

BTW great mini-tutorial and effect Gary, and cool rendering there Wolfgang.

    Regards

    Su

Gary excellent post.... But I to am having trouble with the blend a blend option. Even after selecting the blend and converting it to an editable shape XARA does not give me the option to blend along a curve. It is driving me crazy........

    Am I missing something?

Did you create the blend first of the two converted blends? And then try to attach the blend to the path? Or can you not get the two converted blends to blend at all?

    Thanks for replying so quickly.

Everything is fine up to stage eight of your mini tutorial (the point of applying the converted blend along the freehand path)

After selecting the duplicated blend and converting it to an editable shape the Blend menu does not give me any options at all, they are all grayed out. I have selected both freehand path and the blended circles in different orders thinking it might be that, but still nothing. It is most frustrating.

I have attached a jpeg image of my screen in case it helps
