Yes Pete I thought the same as you! Slightly modified the drawing again but still not really happy with it. Tried to bring the turf down into the rocks but it looked worse. Compromised and put a bit of moss around the bottom of the grass and took out the bunker bit. Tried to sort out the sky but I think I have overworked it. Put linear shadow on the roof and this looks better.

Thank you all for your help and the terrific comments.

The clouds, I agree, are a touch overworked but nature does not follow any set rules on too much or too less, so why should you?? I think my issue remains with a couple of areas that are still looking blockie to me. Not as many as the first composition but there are still a couple present. The area that I refer to is on the right hand side of the lighthouse tower, towards the top. Maybe add a bit of fractal cloud there and that may soften up those edges a bit!! Just my 2ΒΆ

The rest of the compostition has a noticable, positive change to it. The shadows are all much better.

So......I give the composition 5 stars too!!

Like the first, love the second. Saw a photo of the lighthouse on google and I like your illustration a lot better.

Nice work on the foreground rocks, and the grass. The only thing that pops out to me is the tree next to the lighthouse looks a little too green.

    Great Job!

Albacore, that is excellent art. Looks like a place I would love to visit.

Have taken all the remarks on board and have tidied up the drawing. Will not post again because there is too many other good graphics to look at. Thanks for all your help and a "Guid New Year" to you all and more power to your mouse in 2003
