outlining text & fonts

Hey all, I'm new to this forum and new to Xara X. I've used CorelDraw 11 (very powerful but too steep a learning curve) and Broderbund Printshop (way too basic, limited, and cute). My question is this: How do I put outlines on my text? I'm talking about detached outlines, maybe even 2 or 3 of them. This is one thing that the Broderbund software does fast, easy, and excellent. With it I can use various levels and numbers of outlines with just a click or two. I would love to do this with Xara X but have yet been unable to figure out how. Any help would be appreciated - thanks in advance, d.

And wellcome to our Xara forum, may be i misunderstand your qustion!!.
But i think you can do this in Xara with the Contour Tool, i will attach an example, i don’t know if i am right or not please if right, tell me in the next reply.

Here's my take on this. I read that you want a detached line. So this is how I enterpreted it.
