Removing background

I can't find a way to remove a background, I need to beable to totally remove all back ground elements if possible. The main pics I'm working with are motorcycles so I need to remove from very delicate areas (spokes...etc) any help would be great.....I'm an amature at best.

Remember that Xara Xtreme is NOT Photoshop. It's fundamentally a Vector program which can work with Bitmaps too.
