If you are stating the directory is /public_html then your HTML files need to have the extension .html.
@ Acorn: Not following that. I upload to the sub-folder 'public_html' on my host. This is the default folder for my website. However I only ever use Xara's .htm file extension, never .html and it causes o problems.

@ wwdileie: Can you attach a screen grab of your publish settings window with the details of username / password etc blanked out of course?

wwdileie, if you have what is showing in the screenshot then click on the Explore web space button.
This should list all your assets within /index_htm.
Typically, you need to ensure your .htaccess file is directing the root address to the index.htm or index.html file.
If you do not have this or the rediction is to the wrong extension then you might get this behaviour.

Do check what your service provider has set up as default.

I do not think this is a Xara issue.

Hi Egg Bramhill, I've tried to attach a screen shot twice, once saturday and once today, but my reply and attachment don't show up? I'm wondering if it's sitting in a moderators 'to OK' box?

Hi, have been trying to reply to your post three times and it never appears, it seems that either a moderator isn't ok'ing them or somehow they're not getting through?

Hi, thank you for the prompt. I never noticed until you flagged it.
I think the Thread has been stopping your Posts, as early on you included www(.)*****.com/index.html, which was not recognised as an allowed link.
I will keep an eye open.

    Couple of points ww:

The default folder on most hosting servers is public_html not public_htm

Secondly are you sure your site dosen't have a ssl certificate. If it does you need to change the FTP to FTPS
