No, I regularly get this error message too. My wokaround is just to drag the xar file to Xara's title bar. It opens fine then.

For many problems there are simple and easy-to-understand solutions that do not work.

be interesting to know what sort of files you need to do this for [and why] - it has never happened to me - still inclined to think it is an admin rights issue of some kind which varies from setup to setup, but good to know there is a fix
