cooool
leafs going out looks v nice
one thing i can complain on is strong blur on the belly of D
why?
because there is leaf which is sharp and the edge between beely and front side which is also sharp so this blur cannot be treated as focal/lens blur
but anyway it looks great
Could we possibly have a summer first Derek? I thought at first that it was a rust like fill you'd applied but on a second look I realised it was a fall photo. Was the blur intentional or was it the image resolution that caused it? It's the only thing that doesn't quite gel in an otherwise great image.

Awe... I don't care what they say. It looks good to me Derek...
It was the dent/bump deformation filter as I tried to distort the image around the curve, having tried fisheye, which obviously didn't work as well as I hoped, so I'm still trying. Without leaving Xara of course, though I'm not hopefull.
This is what I''ve managed so far but I can't follow the curve as I'd like. It would have been easier to use an A, but there again it didn't start out to be anything about autumn just an experiment in clothing an xtrude

Nice work Derek. I always liked autumn colours.
I think that's great. I like the blur effect in the first image - it gives the effect of an autumn wind........
good idea derek and effect. I haven't really played with the extrude tool much but this is my attempt at covering all surface with an image...maybe my image doesn't wrap correctly as you are trying to do...thanks tao
It all comes from a question in this thread
http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthread.php?t=33414 which started a spate of xtrude tracing, but there are many answers and solutions as usual but I'm not sure if anyone has cracked it yet.

Here's my attempt. It's made up of the same shape. and using only extrusions.
The first shape is extruded, no bevel extrude depth 1. The 3rd shape is the same but extruded 30. The second shape is the same as the third (30 extrusion) but with a flat fill, and a 27.5% brightness transparency applied to endeavour to keep the highlights. View the attached xar for more detail. Use the layers gallery.
