    Paul,

Can you draw one segment the way you want it so I can understand what you mean?

See attached - very rough example!

One day Xara will let me select my red circle and round all the sharp corners.

For what I need it's no big deal, but you Xara boffins often have a simple answer. My answer would be to round by hand all the segemnt in one spoke, then duplicate & rotate.

I almost gave up on this one.

Then it hit me. the LINES!!!

By expanding your line size when you make the circle and star in the beginning, you get more space.

Then after you break the shaped and have your segments, you can simply add a 2pix line and use a round join from the line gallery.

    I do love a challenge

Bobby, that is an ingenious solution. Top man.

    Thank you.

Missed your point originally Paul but here's another technique that works just as well on what you're trying to achieve. I apologise about the video/audio quality, I'm not sure what went wrong.

I think I got that, Egg. It produces a rather interesting shape when you do it with all the little pieces, sort of like a radio beam icon.

Thanks Egg and Bobby. I'll post my end result when I make it. These shapes are for an interface to some flash software - at the moment I just have to make it work and later I'll replace my pointed corners with rounded ones.

I'm really impressed by both solutions.

One aspect of all this, and a pet frustration I've had with Xtreme is not really getting to properly understand how to Xtreme goes about it's business with respect to conversion of things like contours to lines and shapes. In this thread we've been able to make separated segments, but some of the steps involved almost seem like voodo.

Currently I need to generate a number of separated concentric ring shapes from a contoured circle. Can I do it easily? No!

What do you mean you can't do it easily? Here's a simple approach. Takes longer to explain than to do it.

And I expect that Egg, Steve or Bill will come along with something easier or more sophisticated (probably both ).
