You are so right Eggs is a beautiful chopper. I wish I had half his talent no a 10th of his talent would make me happy but then that goes without saying for most of the talent here on Talk Graphics. The few competitions for the scribble I have entered my entry was so simple it shouldn't even count. That's like I have an idea for this scribble but do not know how to make it happen as I see the scribble as the crown of a cowboy hat. Believe it or not I've made 4 or 5 tries and have gotten nowhere I know what I see in my mind. But cannot make it happen. Congrats to all of the entries.

But what I see in my mind and what happens on paper or in this case Xara are 3 different things and none of them show what I have in my mind.

Gypsyjoe, it' interesting you are trying so hard the scribble is NOT a contest just a bit of fun so don't fret over it just have fun with it if it helps find a reference image or two that may help you.

its a minimalistic animal - you need minimaliistic eyes - kill the eye outlines they are out of style, there because you think they should be, not because they are effective - all you need is the ovals adjusted for expression:

I know I post a few things on this forum, but I am in fact in the same predicament and frustration. Most of what I do tends to just happen by chance (one thing leading to another) rather than design. The thing is, you've got the idea and concept in your head.

I've not done this myself (yet!), but I believe one way to get over this is to learn to draw with pencil and paper and keep practicing to build up hand/brain coordination. My bookshelf is littered with books gathering dust with titles like 'Learn to draw in a weekend' and 'An introduction to drawing'. The problem is I get excited about the prospect of getting stuck in, but then don't!

Meanwhile here's capybara (a giant rodent native to South America) or an unhappy alien.
