    I'm very impressed with the centre plaque. My efforts look like crayon drawings compared to the subtle details Gary, and others on TG, seem to apply instinctively.

    Difference between a professional and a pratter-arounder.

    I'm now going to pratt around, get discouraged, drink a beer, try again, close the page without saving and edit music instead.

    I found the attached doing a search for interlocking panels. It's helped me understand how to accomplish this using a hexagon to construct the piece.

    So here's what I was trying to accomplish with my past pattern [rolls eyes] http://gwpriester.xara.hosting/inter...g-pattern-two/

    I had one helluva time with a thin hairline showing up where the two hexagons came together, each containing one half the fill, so I cheated: I place a copy of the filled shape on top of the two halves.

    This works well when the pattern has no Line Width shapes being cut through.

    Far trickier when there are lines involved.

    When you do your slicing, do you put a No Fill , No Line with box on top of your pattern
    Yes, and I work in outline view at 500-1000% but there are still some problems when slicing a group of shapes.
