Hello

Can anyone direct me to a tutorial (or come up with one?) that explains how to get metal effects in Xara (e.g aluminium etc).

One of the featured artists on XaraXone, Graeme Davidson, used the effect I'm after on his 'Hard Drive' and 'Transistor' pieces.

Also if you could throw in a tutorial on glass effect(s) that would be cool too.

Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks.

Thanks for that Egg and Gary.

For the metal effects I was more after the smooth aluminium effect that Graeme achieved.....

Any pointers there. Thank you for you patience

I scanned a piece of 99.99% pure aluminum, and read the Hue values. I got a range of 110 to 130. This may help with the color for the metal. Rich

I've not been in Talkgraphics for a while -busy, busy, busy round here at the mo! I'm really missing drawing with XaraX and all the good folks in the forum too.

I'll quite happily post up a piece of the hard drive for you to take apart to see what you can make of it - if you'd like

I'll post up a transistor too if you want that too.
