I did the flying pencils in MacroModel and the can in Fractal Design Painter. The background is just a filtetred texture.
My Best,
Gare

Cool man! I have the Painter version that came packed in a paint can and also Fractal Design Sketcher, it was packaged in a cigar box. Haven't used em in a while.

This is RenderMan? How do you get the shaders out of either app into RM? Or do you write them yourself?
I'm always curious about RM, because of its' widespread use. Let us in on a little of that knowledge, Gary!

Brett--
I have one of the first RenderMan for Windows modules, straight from PIXAR. It came with MacroModel, and although working between MacroModel and RenderMan is a PITA as far as workflow goes, the results speak for themselves.
BTW, I use Maya, and it, too, came with a RenderMan for Maya unit. The renderimg Mods are not cheap which is why it's a good idea to find the program you're going to use and stick with it! I'm still a Maya noob, however, and stick to MacroModel, as anal as this sounds, just to get an idea done.
