OK, I was watching the thread with the faucet entries from a c4d tut, and was very interested in such...

here's a take on things, modeled with Wings3d, rendered with Carrara Studio2...

we will see if we can't do the whole bathroom... kinda neat stuff, really

I like the marble you have going there John, very nice

Thanks, here's one which I have rendered in Carrara Basic's trial app... not a bad result for a watered down app...

I really like that image gidgit. Nice simple, but effective example. Carrara's seems to render very nicely. I seem to remember that Carrara was a Metacreations product...

    John - nice sink/cigar ashtray

Thanks Broon... Yea, Carrara is a very capable rendering app indead... has some workflow issues which could be improved upon, but pretty steady in quality of results for sure... and I have seen much better than what I am able to deliver...

Yes, Eovia now owns Carrara, and the new news is... evidently they are creating a high end modeler only app... hmmm... let's hope that some of the click in click out redundancy does not follow through from thier other apps...

but yea, for cheap quality rendering and more, if one qualifies as a student, they could get a student version of CS4Pro for 15o.00... pretty cool deal I would say
