    Hey all http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I was wondering, how do you change/cut out the background of an image and replace it with another background. Like, for example, let's say a pic has a green background but I want to put a background of San Francisco, how would I go about doing so?

Hi Faith and welcome to the TalkGraphics PI board! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

There's two ways to do this. The first way is to "cut out" the central focus of your image, then copy and paste it into another one. I've written a tutorial on how to do this using the Lasso Selection tool and the Object Paint Eraser here

Another way to do this is to select the background, then fill it with another background. PI8 has a number of selection tools for this purpose. I've written a tutorial on using the new Color Range Selection command which is easily tweaked with Mask mode to select even complex backgrounds. The tut is here
