How do I select a part of a picture in XARA X? Say I want to cut off the top of someone's head and tilt it up like a cookie jar lid. This is easy in MS Paint! I do 3D animated caricatures, http://www.geocities.com/glockware/xaraanis.html ,
and want to be more diverse.

Thanks

Here's a tutorial that I hope is what you're looking for!

I love your cartoons! However, your site could use a little work , awsome animations, but to many on one page. Ask around here for someone to help you with it if you so please, we got some great designers here!

I hope to see you around here more, I love your work!

Steve - Our friend wanted to cut open the heads of his cartoons - not another person!

Steve's technique shows how to do it with a bitmap. If you have a grouping of vector objects it will work too. My quick example below was done that way...

Ironsage, you could do some amazing things with Xara & Flash. Start climbing that learning curve!

Wonderful insites and attitudes! Thanks for the gracious help. Now who wants to tell me how to trace? (As is, "First, trace his head") I have no manual and am unable to RTFM so I am faking it hard!

Thanks

You'll find lots of info about trimming bitmap in a guest tutorial I wrote for Gary's XaraXone.com website. You can find the tutorial here. IMHO there is some good basic advice that will serve you well throughout year 2002.
