I'm on Corel9, Win2K, using latest downloaded Aladdin Stuffit 5.5.
I can't Expand a Mac/Stuffit .sit file named:
"full size T-shirt art" Mac people love those long paragraph names.
I have tried to rename it...still won't open or import in Corel or PhotoPaint.

Any helps out there? I've searched for forums.

Thanks ...Karen

Karen

Does the alladin program actually recognise the file and expand the contents.

If the file came from the internet sometimes the file is in what is known in the macworld as a hex format (a form of uuencoding where the file is encoded as 7 bit text) and needs to be turned into a binary (8 bit) format.

For example the file might be called

filename.sit.hex and need to be converted to a binary file filename.sit before the expander program will recognise it.

I can't remember how you go about converting a mac hex file into a mac binary file on a Windows PC if this is the case.

Perhaps somebody in the Photoshop forum will know

Thanks Peter - i ran out of time & patience too.
So i just gave it to a service beareu to output the 4c Proc seps.
When I get the disks back I will try to figure it out from your tips. i have unZipped files before & Expanded them too.
All I kept getting was a Solid gray box with "Corel EPS" in the center.
The file started as a Quark...that speaks volumes in itself. Converted to .ai foe PC then zipped.
Who knows?? I'll try next week
Thanks again - karen

Karen you need to know what is the application that originate the file. Then you have to rename it and type the three character extension, or select the proper filter to import it into DRAW.

For example.
Illustrator = AI, EPS
Freehand = FHx where x is version number
Photoshop = PSD, Tiff, EPS
