The Xara Xone is back after a month's vacation. (I needed that!)

This is Stereogram Month with a full blown tutorial for creating your own hidden and floating image 3D Stereograms, and a Featured Artists Gallery of 21 Stereogram images.

    Plus Amanda's Fun Brushes.

New tips (a lot of the new tips have appeared first in this conference). Links to sites created with Xara graphics, Shareware, Templates, and a lot of other cool stuff.

Oh, and new site graphics too!

Big thank you to Gary for getting my brushes on at such short notice http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I will definitely be having a go at the stereogram tut once I've figured out how to view them LOL.

    Viewing sterograms.

I saw my first sterogram with Gary's Mouse Pad.
This is what works for me and a lot of others who had never been able to see them.

Press your nose against the screen (or you can print it out)in the center of stereogram. Close your eyes for a few seconds. Open your eyes and keep them focoused on the center of the stereogram. Slowly move your head back. Do not blink or shift your eyes. As you draw back the stereogram will suddenly appear. For me me it is usually between 10 and 12 inches. Once I have it , can draw back as far as I like. What amazes me it the clarity and depth produced.

    Gary,

I'm sure it's a great tutorial! The stereograms are interesting (as abstract designs) - as I can't see them (still)... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/frown.gif Yes, I'm jealous... http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Amanda's brushes are a wonderfully generous contribution to the gallery. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

The new-look XX looks solid! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/cool.gif

Thanks for bringing it all together!

I could use a few candidates for next month's Featured Artists Group Show. Do I see any hands?

email me gary@gwpriester.com if you are interested and include one or two images for consideration. (Do not post here).

In the subject line of your message add Xara Xone Featured Artist so I don't accidentially delete your message.

I Like the slinky new look Gary!

I think stereograms are amazing. Although I have trouble seeing any hidden image at all and seem to end up with a headache on the rare occasion that I do. Still managed to see your last one with the sphere - very cool stuff.

I find using a dimmed torch helps, if you then focus on the dimmed light shining on the screen and move it back and forth slowly often the stereogram will pop into view at a certain point.

Cute brushes there Amanda thanks for sharing.

Many thanks Gary for your continued hard work.

    Regards

    Su
