Eric - I think its time you applied for a job at Wacom or Logitech. Your pen idea could make *them* rich.

Maybe someone knows - can an idea like eric's be patented without a working prototype or the design of the electronics?

Be sure to use caution with this laser pen. If your finger slips too far down you could get burned!

And Paul, if you point it towards your face you can go blind! Just think of the product liability!

Sorry for this, I think my question a few postings back was lost by the fun laser pen stuff.

Can anyone answer? i.e. the Q was, is this a labour intensive as I'm making out?

well i expected it had already been invented, i believe something like 95% of all patent applications have been "done before" last time i looked into it there was a very expesive search fee, then after patenting you then have to sell the damn thing! it's enough to put anybody off

    Hi all,

OK, I have worked on Gary's and Ivan's tut's and you know I am stumped. I can not get a perfectly sementrical spiral. Almost but not perfect. This is one shape I would love to be able to cheat to achieve.

Have someone come up with an easier way for the mathmatically challenged person, like myself??

    Just thought I'd ask! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Luckily I have CorelDraw, which I don't like to much but I guess it's handy for this sort of thing!!

Strangely enough, after I had created my spiral in Draw11 I saved it as a .cdr file, native file for Draw and one that XaraX is supposed to support and open. WRONG!! So then I saved it as an .ai file and it gave me version options so I chose version 5 and it opened right up in XaraX. So I have my way around this but I still think in the new version of XaraX that a quick shape tool should include this one, IMO! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the heads up Christine!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Oh, in case anyone needs a good spiral here is one for you to download and use! I also included a few other shapes that XaraX can't do or at least not quite like these! I did bother to add shadows and a bevel here and there for effect but the file is quite lite!! Thought I'd share the wealth!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
