I just installed Painter8 on my laptop running XP.

I opened Painter8, from the Menu Bar selected Help but nothing happened.

Isn't there a help file that installs with Painter8?

Hi John, Yes there is a help file. If you installed in your C: directory it should be C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Painter 8\Help\wwhelp\js\html\frames.htm

There is also a pdf version of the manual in the painter folder \Program Files\Corel\Corel Painter 8\Painter8 User Guide but you can't access it through the help menu.

P.S. be sure to get the latest patch they issued last month. *8.1

    Thanks, Judi.

On your PC does it fire up from Painter's Help menu?

    RATS!

I bet it is an XP issue. Newer machines can not use MS Virtual Machines Java Plugin any longer and have Sun's version instead.

That doesn't make sense to me. XP is what Corel recommends. I have a 6 month old Dell. I haven't heard that complaint of the Painter List yet.
