Many are trying to build multiple web pages in Frontpage without having multiple project sub-directories being created for each web page.

First, this is NOT a solution for creating large web sites with multiple web pages. There is no solution to this yet from Xara, but this allows ALL pages exported of the SAME theme and for the SAME site to reference the navbar and logo from the SAME images folder.

Here's how:

FrontPage provides the concept of a template. This will allow you to save the exported Webstyle web page as a template and use the template as the basis of creating your subsequent pages.

1. OPEN Webstyle, SELECT web pages. SELECT the theme you wish to use followed by the layout required. EDIT it as required and then SAVE it
as "Frontpage-enabled" ensuring the page is SAVED to the correct directory upon your local machine.

2. OPEN the page in Frontpage by selecting file followed by OPEN and navigating to the location the file was exported to and double-clicking on the page.

3. The web page will be displayed in FrontPage. SELECT FILE followed by SAVE AS. Select FrontPage template from the SAVE AS type drop down list and provide the template a name from within the file name text box. Click on SAVE causing the web page to be saved as a template.

This now allows you to use the template as the basis of your web page.

4. Select FILE followed by NEW. Click on MORE PAGE TEMPLATES. SELECT the MY TEMPLATES TAB and then double-click on the template that you saved within the previous step.

5. This will cause the page to be displayed within FrontPage. Select FILE followed by SAVE AS and save the web page with the appropriate
name to the correct directory (the location where the original page was saved to from webstyle.)

6. From the design view, PRESS the F5 key on your keyboard causing the design page to be refreshed and allowing the graphics to be retrieved and displayed within the editor.

You have now created a web page based upon a FrontPage template page which in turn is based upon an exported page from webstyle.

For each subsequent page created, simply follow the steps 4 and 5.

This will work as long as all web pages are stored within the same directory.

If pages are to be saved within various sub-directory folders then the template file will need to be ammended accordingly. To achieve this you need to be familiar with HTML.

Dreamweaver also provides the concept of templates. This allows you to save an exported web page layout as a template and then create your web pages based upon a template thus ensuring the graphics within each page are being referenced from the same location.

Remember, this allows ALL pages exported of the SAME theme and for the SAME site to reference the navbar and logo from the SAME images folder.

I hope this helps those that want their images in the SAME sub-directory folder.
