One more possibility of using brushes for еffects of the text.
I use text -> bevel -> convert to editable shapes -> create brush (uncheck rotate along path and tile fills).

I had used characters as brushes but not as a whole word that is really fantastic - lots of possibilites there.

Hi, This is cool effects, but i can not make it
when i follow the steps it gives me a different look, and it is vey very slow when i try to scale the brush.
Any hints PLZ.

If you select the "Freehand and Brush Tool" which looks like a pencil, with the shape you wish to create a brush with the tool options bar along the top changes to allow you to create a brush
