Very nice indeed !
The plug is a bit odd for us westerners. I take it is a European standard.

great modeling (!), great rendering and fantastic retro design - I just love those old mechanical thingies ;-}
It started out to be a car, but then it turned to be a vac - just joking, because there are so many retro-design cars at the shows these days...

Yup, it **is** a standard European 'Schuco' plug - German DIN (=German Industrial Standard) - will never slip out of the socket. Very secure system, would be great for you westerners as well, but - oh - I think it'll be too hard to convince 260 million westerners in less than 3 days ;-}
How many children must be grilled at the flumsy US sockets before you guys will adopt this system?

Jens,
I did a google search for Schuco plug and a few hits looked promising.
Yes, the design looks safe and stable.
Most of the problems with western stuff is with cheap construction methods and materials.
We do have numerous voltages, phases, & transformer configurations. The NEMA standards work well with identifying and limiting connections with mis matched supply services. If only everyone used Hubbell or P$S quality devices, then most of the safety concerns would be avoided.

Thank you all for comments.
Jens, I hope everything is running better for you.

Yes, it's much better now - they asked me to leave because they don't want new ideas but technical drawings.
<sigh>
What the heck, this an excellent example for the business mentality in Germany.
And I am FREE like a bird again. Now let's see when the banks will strike again ;-}
