Disappearing Buttons when test movie

Hi,

I have something weird happening to my movie. I tried to add 2 buttons to my movie but when I try to test and click control, enable simple buttons, they disappear.
Can anyone tell me what to do??

This seems dumb I know, but I don't know how much you know about flash...

Within the button there are frames, which frames are currently occupied by the image/text you wish to use as a button?
