The extrude was naturally a simple one. But it took me an hour in XARA designing the paths!
Modeled and rendered in E3D.

Looks great there Gare, only crit for me is the surface needs to be more porous (however that is spelled ) and the color slightly darker shade of brown... not so much gold highlight... other than that the mapping is great eh...
Gary, excellent detail on the cookie. How many did you eat while doing your research for creating the paths?
Have you made one to look like the usual twist and lick the filling?

Cool Gare
I also prefer extrusions to bump mapping
Stu.
great cookie. However, the fill looks a bit blue - is this correct? I'd expect a brown chocolate fill or a beige cream fill, but not a blue fill ;-}

hey, you are looking to be right on this Stu... this certainly does look to be extruded... my humble apologies Gary... must look much closer before commenting in the future...
I assumed at a glance that this be mapped, as Gary usually maps many of his 3d stuff eh...
So, I am an ass (ume)... hey, no biggy, I am used to it...
Cool Technique Gary, I think this same tec was used on your man hole cover? looks very nice!

Thanks Mike and all...
The top was/is 238 seperate objects, no bump-mapping was not an alternative. As for the blue filling, there's just a blue light in the scene (sorta like sneaking down at midnight to raid the cookie jar
I drew all the paths in CorelDRAW and then exported 'em...
