    true enough ernie, you need them sharp for fine detail

    cartooning is the art of leaving out fine detail, so these days I can take it more or less literally; just a few strokes of the unsharpened pencil for a scan, and the rest is all digital

    @RIK - there is a 'scribble' down the side of the pencil-extender where the slit is, but as it is not a drawing that would be a cheat and so I have not shown it !

    working on one to post.....
