    Hello everyone,
I have been struggling with my navigations sub menu's and can't seem to get them to work.

I imported the navigation menu to frontpage02. I then saved the file and opened it in DreamweaverMX. Everything looks fine while I'm working on it but as soon as I upload the page to my server, it doesn't work.... at all.

    The page is http://www.writers-network.com/Home.html
Right under the writers-network logo, there should a navigation bar going across the page (with sub menus) but nothing shows up.

Can anyone help me with this. I have spent days trying to fix this but I don't know what the problem is. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks for ur time http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hi I searched around and hope this can help out.. I do it and never have a problem ...

My NavBar previews OK on my local machine but is not displayed when the site is uploaded to a web server.
    1. Have you uploaded all the files associated with your NavBar?. If your NavBar has sub menus then there will be 2 Javascript files. One named xaramenu.js and another bearing the same name as the set of graphics exported. There will be 2 graphics for each button upon your navbar along with an additional graphic.

    2. Is the folder in which you saved your graphics and JavaScript file(s), at the same location relative to the web page upon your web server, as the folder in which you saved your graphics and JavaScript file(s) is to your web page on your local drive?

Assume you save your navbar (the graphic files and javascript file(s)) in the same location as where your web page is saved.

However when you uploaded your web page and all associated files, you decide to place the files for the NavBar in a separate folder to your web page named graphics. The NavBar will not be displayed when viewing the web page. This is because the script references inserted in the web page are looking for the javascript files in the same directory as the web page and not in the graphics directory.

    Good Luck

    Hi Bob,
thanks for replying. I have seen that article and have done everything mentioned. All files are included in my graphics folder and the folder is uploaded to the same directory as my page and it has the same path as it does when I am viewing it from my own computer. That is why I am so frustrated. I can't figure out what's wrong with it.

If anybody has had a smiliar problem, PLEASE help me out 'cause I am at the end of my rope on this. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

Nevermind, I just figured out what I did wrong (I feel stupid http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/eek.gif)

I did not know I was supposed to upload the .js files directly to my root folder. I uploaded them with the navigation buttons in my graphics folder, as a whole. Oops

Thanks for your help Bob... after reading the article a little closer I realized my mistake.

    All the best
    Bianca
