Default Scrolling issue on mobile devices

    Hi all,

I have created a desktop site on Designer Pro 18 (my first site using this software) which I'm generally happy with and works fine on desktop / laptop devices. On mobile devices there is a weird issue. I haven't created a mobile version of the site yet, but still I would expect the site to act the same on mobile devices.

    Here's the issue:
When viewing the site on a mobile device (I've tested on Android tablet and Android phone and on an iPad), when you try and scroll down any page (some pages are long), it skips to the next page. So, on most of the pages you can't scroll all the way down. This is incredibly annoying and frustrating for users.
I have tested on various browsers on the mobile devices but always get the same result.

You can view the site here:

Anyone seen this before or more importantly know how to prevent this?

Sorry if this questions has been asked before.
    Appreciate any help or advice.

    Thanks.

You have a transition effect set on the website - Utilities > Web Properties > Export (tab) > Transition Effect.

The vertical scroll effect doesn't come into play on the desktop, but it does on a mobile. Something is not quite right there. I do see what you mean about the jumping around on mobiles, but without the .web/.xar, I, for one, would be just stabbing in the dark.

Remove the transition and see if that magically fixes the jumping. Or, add the transition to all your variants equally and see if that works.

    Hi Chris,

thanks for the response. The transition effect is set to 'Instant'. I would have thought that this equated to 'no transition'. Is this not correct?

    Cheers.

You need to have it set to 'Website' to make it behave like a traditional site.

    Thanks Chris.

The only issue is that it doesn't give me an option for 'Website'. Am I missing something?

    Thanks.

    Nothing's straight forward, is it?

What version of Xara are you using, your profile says Designer Pro X. I have Web Designer Premium and access to Designer Pro+, both of which show as per below.

This is the bit where we both wait for someone to go "Ahh, now, you see, the trick is..."

    Spark of inspiration.
Are you sure your project is a website and not a presentation?

I actually just went and bought Web Designer Premium - thinking maybe that there were options I didn't have. So, now using 18.5 WD Premium.

Originally it was was just a Xara document but I've resaved it as Web document. But it still shows nothing on the tab. What am I missing here?

Yes, that white icon signifies a document, not a website.

It's quite possible that's an easy fix, but never having done it I'm going to bow out and mow the lawn instead

Don't panic, someone will jump in and show you the next step.
