Hi, It looks like a good start. I am not sure, however, about the shadows of the four smaller buttons ... are they necessary and, if so, shouldn't the larger button be treated similarly?

Yes it is a good start, I think the shadows should be smaller , and the whole thing should be smaller for a web page. You want your graphics to be quick loading for a web page. It is a little plain and I think that you can make it more visually exciting!

Steve

What if the buttons appear to be recessed and then rise up on the mouse over?

Or what if the buttons appear clear and then light up with color on the mouse over?

And what if you placed something inside the title graphic and buttons like very subtle clouds?

No critisim of your design but just a pointer. The image as it is is large enough to fill a 600 x800 screen alone. There seem to be little room for text. As a home page in particular it is more and more important to include some straight text (i.e. non image text)as most search engines now use this text to classify a site, and are moving away from meta tags. I realise this is just a concept at present, but something worth bearing in mind.

Thakns for the replies,
Gary
I did have mouse-overs with your ideas already, but still a little unfamiliar with the Navbar tool and then locked up before I could save ! Oh well.

I currently have my screen at 1024 x 736 so didn't realize how big it was, but yes, it is a 'concept' and will be modified later for text and other fun stuff like that.
Still in the process, just needed some feedback on how I was doin. thanks a lot

I think more lively colours would also help.
