Thanks Bill. Actually our heat wave ended when the west coast started to heat up. It's only 66F here at the moment and we have had light rain for most of the day.

@GaryP, inspired by your book cover and Dr Who, I tried my best at recreating the spiralling clock face.
Far harder that it seems and it felt rude to let it just start so there is a Yin-Yang element included, or is it parallel universes or even black & white holes?
I certainly discovered Xara's Spiral is not really up to it.
I tried Scatter Brushes and Blends and Moulds, all with mixed results.
I hope someone can develop or suggest a better approach.

That's amazingly close.
To be honest, I found the image, I did not create it. I was doing a search for antique bracket clocks on Shutterstock and when I saw this image, actually a series of related images, I said, this is perfect for the story. And if anybody actually buys the book and reads the title story, you will see how well the image complements the story.

Cheers Egg, the second I Posted about Xara's Spirals not being that hot, I found the way to stack lots of them properly.
Do not use any scaling, centering or size factoring.
Ignore what Xara declare a spiral's centre is.
All (ALL) you need do is Clone and pull in/out the Wind around centre control, keeping it at 0deg.
Smart!? Counter-intuitive, more like. A control that has no built-in constraints or dimensioning.
