Ok, I could be reeeeely stupid here but I have never found a way of aligning an object to the canvas. Just about every other app I own can do this but I just can't find a way in the 'Shop'
Can any one put me out of my misery?
    Huge regards
    Dave

Actually real simple Dave... but the answer is version specific... so which do you use?

OK, it's VERY simple then Dave...

Select or link together 2 or more layers.
    Then choose the MOVE tool.
Now look along the Options Bar atop the work space. You'll see a bunch of rectangles with lines through and around them. Those are the quick buttons for alignment.

They work on anything pretty much; type, separate shapes, layers, layer groups, etc.

Play around with them, and get familiar with each one. If you have "tool tips" turned on in your PS prefs, then hover your mouse over a button to get a tooltip saying what type of alignment it performs.

TIP: To align objects/layers to each other, just link the desired layers together. To align objects/layers to the canvas area, link the desired layers together, and SELECT ALL as well. Then apply the desired alignment(s).

    Thanks mark.
I guess I'm too used to using Xaras align to doc button. Photoshops way seems a little long winded but now I know how to do it I am happy.

    Large Regards

Actually Dave... i believe both apps take the same amount of 'steps' to apply the alignment functions. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
