Hi,
Many thanks both! With your collective advice I've considerably improved performance.
Yes, SVG is what I meant by vectors in HTML. I'm interested to know what browsers you refer to - caniuse.com seems to only indicate IE as being problematic (at least to the latest release, 1.1), and as it is now deprecated software that surely shouldn't hold back Xara development?
This helped a lot - excellent! The files output reduced from over 4000 to 200. The website now loads much quicker and does not aggregate object drawing. Still not ideal but much better.
I guess I'm not saying there isn't a use case for rasterized graphics in websites, but that it seems strange on behalf of Xara to not provide an option for SVG website export. They already have the filer (though somewhat primitive compared to other image export) and outstanding general vector editing capabilities, so surely it shouldn't be hard to implement...
Hopefully one day they'll respond! I'll post this request to Dear Xara, in the hope that they'll pick up on it. In the mean time, if anyone knows any workarounds I'd be keen to give them a go.
Thanks again!
