She looks like she has a windows virus
I've not had any issues I can pin on windows 2004 - some transitory lag here and there, but that is par for the course, almost certainly background apps or houskeeping and in one case pending broswer update
I updated with the windows media tool as I now normally do for the major updates, rather than have them go thorough the normal update channel; check first what is involved
I used to hang back, but these days my philosophy is up to date windows is safer security-wise; often issues arise more with older hardware, or hardware/drivers that are not 'mainstream'
no new features above the hood that I have made specific use of yet - plenty of info out there [good and bad]
@behzad
that 'mint' video has a hole in it's argument, if not it's centre

Mary's version sounds like an insider program build to me [for example 19041.264] there is no version 1904 on general release afaik, it went from 1903 to 1909 [as in '3' march release; '9' september release; nominally]
if Mary is on the insider program that may help to explain issues, insider prgram is basically beta
your version is 1803 or 1809 then, older as you would expect from the numbering, unless you are on the insider program too?
edit - the current spring release is called 2004 not 2003 'so as to avoid cionfusion' because historically there was a windows 2003 back in the day
