Can someone please tell me how this 'Update Service Period Expired' reminder can be disabled?
I know it's expired. I can read that it's expired.
Thanking you in advance.

only way I know is to block the program in firewall - I block the program full stop, but then I don't need the web stuff - I think acorn has some method of blocking just the program' hooks' that produce the message...
Every so often if you do block, the program will decline to start until you let it check your activation

I just cannot believe that Magix/Xara want to do this.
The more I get annoyed, the less I will do something.

'tis the way of magix - they like nag screens it would appear, the in your face marketing

Maybe try annoying them - send them an email every time you get a nag screen, thanking them for the reminder and explaining why you don't want to upgrade!

Rik, can you advise which version of the XDA you are using?
Can you also update your TG Profile to match?
Let's assume you have XDPXv17.
Open C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Designer Pro X\17\.
Find the Folders ..\Online\ and ..\UPS\.
Rename both by appending XXX.
The rationale is here: https://www.talkgraphics.com/showthr...35-Nag-Screens.
I believe this stops all Internet connection to MagiXara so at your own risk.

Perhaps another work-around but will need some brains to figure it out since I don't know it.
There are usually 2 nag screens that can both be dismissed by hitting the escape key.
Isn't there a script of some sort we can run that will start the program then waits x seconds, simulates the escape key, wait x seconds, simulate the escape key.
Please correct me if I'm wrong of course... BUt that would sorta make it less annoying.
Richard
This is easy to do with AutoHotKey that I mentioned using for Xara related macros a time back with no interest.
