Try New > Blank Page and then choose Letter from the dropdown under Page Size ...

AND mine comes in as a 9½" x 11" page too. Although it is defined as 8½" x 11"

and they make if far to difficult to post a simple bug, that I didn't bother, and I suspect others may not either, hoping that someone who already has an account will post it for them.
