When importing a .XAR, .WMF, or .EMF file created with Xara X, the edges are jaged. With .EMF files created in visio I do not have this problem. I would have thought that the .XAR import would be "Perfect". Any suggestions, or just keep using Visio?

This should be posted in the Xara 3D conference but maybe not as it has to do with Xara's export as well.
I have found in Xara 3D that EMF is terrible. WMF works better, and I don't have the Xara plug-in installed (why not?) and so I have not used that one.
If you are having good luck with Visio, I can not think of any reason why you should not stick with what works for you.
Egg or some of the other members who do a lot of work in Xara 3D may have a different answer.
The only thing I would check is to make sure your view quality is set to Anti-aliased (Window > Quality > Anti-aliased).

Is on in Xara X. It doesn't really bother me that much. I just thought both products being Xara that there woul not be any compatibility issues. I tried many programs with the same resut. The main one being my favorite CAD program TurboCAD v7.1. If I export a .WMF out of Visio I get the same result, only the .EMF imports totaly smooth. Thanks for your reply.

Saved as a .WEB & imported with no problems. I guess that Xara X was once a Corel product, & webster must be a native Xara application. Well for everyone to know Visio exported to .wmf (sometimes works, depending on the shape) & .emf as well as Webster .web file imports should in most cases produce smooth graphics.
Since the import of the .WEB file, my .XAR files are now importing smooth. Go figure?
OT: Love the inverted penticle. I'm Wiccan myself but have used the inverted penticle to ground myself when doing spells for folks!! Are you a student of Crowley?? I've read his stuff, quite interesting and some good info!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Never mention the C word here Kenny. Xara has always been a native Xara product, merely sold under licence by Corel so they could try to bury it. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif

I sure hated to take up the forums resources with my ignorance. I had the texture mapped to front, back, & sides when I should have only been mapping to front & back. Thanks for all of your help. btw here is the finished product. Scary, huh? :-) Just tinkering around. I have started to use Xara 3D for all of my animated web graphics. Easier to work with rather than load up TurboCAD, 3DS Max, or Trispectives Technical. This is just too easy.
Just doodling. This was for some heavy metal band's web site. More than anything else, jut trying to learn Xara X & Xara 3D.
