Great pic. Gray. I wonder why back then the state arrested Tupolev and some of the designers as it seems to me to have been a great aircraft at the time. I don't suppose we will ever know.

Another great drawing and interesting story to go with it. I keep thinking about how the pilots must have shared flying duties and got any sleep on those long flights!

Thanks stygg. I believe the charges were sabotage and espionage. I think Russia was a dangerous place to live back then.
Jono thanks, It would be mind numbing to be in the air for 75 hours. I would guess the crew of three took turns.

I like the green tint in the sky making a nice contrast with the wings.
Aircraft evolution went fast at that time period.

I flew a lot of Tupolevs when I was into the Sturmovik simulator a while ago.
