HTML5 is still being defined.
Yes, it's only been a few years now..

Perhaps you don't plan on living much longer.
Not exactly my plan, but maybe you have some insight with the grim reaper.

In many ways HTML5 is better.
Yes, but in many ways it's totally inferior to Flash.

Flash is still a security problem.
And we can all be glad that everything else is super secure. I don't think.

Use at your own risk, ymmv.
I don't really because the demise of Flash as a browser renderer (which is what it is) is more about software politics than technical issues and Flash was dead when Jobs protected the appstore from the sophisticated applications that Flash was capable of.

I liked flash quite a bit.
Me too.

Was sorry to see it go.
It's not quite dead yet. It's still used for cross-platform development building app for IOS, Android, PC and Mac. I have developed a few apps on IOS and Android. I have a few bespoke flash-based game apps running in specialist venues with large projection screens ( think in tens of feet ), controlled by touch.

I'm not championing Flash but I don't like it being kicked even if it's down.

I have a feeling I haven't yet made my last Flash app..
