Thanks Gary, here's another one that uses animated gifs on both mouse-off and mouse over layers. Not to my liking but worth an experiment.

Totally agree Gary. It was just an experiment in trying to use two animated gifs as buttons. Far from simple and open to all sort of designer errors

I really like the MBB one, very effective.

That's correct Gary. Again a bit OTT but a good exercise. I think it looks far better on a mobile than on a desktop.
