Font for Laser Cutting

Thank you, I have tried to add an image to this reply, but I don't think it was successful.

In the laser program I can create a file that will cut, but it cuts each letter, and does not link the letters into a word. So in Xara I am trying to create an AI file of a name to send to laser cutting program. I need the word / name to link together as one continuous cut. However, I only seem to be able to export a text file from xara as an image, not an ai file. The Laser program cannot cut an image file, it can only etch an image file.
