You guys always bitch that Xara doesn’t update/upgrade Xara X and you get annoyed it they work on any other product BUT Xara X. You also complain that they never keep you informed and that their marketing sucks.
Now they want to release this new product and they make you shut up by promising prizes or money. Dozens (!) of people put hours of work into it and now they’ll have the perfect logo for only $300, a lot of publicity and people who shut up about Xara X for once in a while.

It’s the American way of thinking; “money buys everything�, in this example used by a British company.

That explains again how America became so powerful; too many easy fools who do everything you ask them to do, just for a few dollars.

Burn you ideas, things you stand for, your goals, beause you smell money...

I'm speaking for myself, now. Maybe If I didn't do this for the fact that I love Xara and use it already for 7 years, I would possibly agree with you . But there is this little minor fact that I owe Xara and it's programming team much more than I lost designing these logos.

At least your post gave me good reason, and provoked me to speak out something which I was hesitating to say.

I think it would be best to lock this thread now.

Choose the 3 best designs and ask their authors to send the last redesigns (according to feedback from Charles) privately to Xara. I don't think it's good to leave us wait for another week or even more.

Finch - You are entitled to your opinions but I believe you are making a mistake in thinking all the thread participants are seduced by the money. Most of us probably like money as much as the next guy but I doubt anyone here is motivated by the prize.

It is more about having fun addressing a challenge - and the challenge actually is quite challenging. It really is fun! (you should try it). And it is fun to see how others have addressed the same challenge. I'd say nobody is really doing it with any serious expectation of "winning".
