Stretching text

I've used an ancient version of Xara on Linux where it wasn't an issue to stretch a text. However, in Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 15 this action is replaced by scaling. Even the approach when the text is grouped with something else does not work, although the documentation says it should. I guess, this behavior was changed at some point. Which is the version that still supports such stretching?

This has been raised with Xara and we are anticipating an imminent correction or mechanism to restore the stretching feature.

Version 12. However, an update to version 15 is expected in the near future to allow for the old behavior of stretching of text and graphics.

Is this a change in the direction of the editor, or a bug? An old topic suggested that this behaviour is more suitable for the web editing direction of the application.

Hi Hellias, it's not a bug but a change of direction that fortunately Xara has listened to it's users and is soon to supply a 'fix'

Thanks for the link. I guess, it's a sign of our times that everything nice goes to hell. I'm glad that I'm still using the trial.
