    Default website speed performance score

Did a test on a newly finished site with xara. The following performance is in Red. How can they be fixed?

This came up a while ago and one of the members wrote some long posts about how to improve these scores. Do a search and see if you can find these. They would have been during the past year.

Thanks. Do we have to improve them or xara programmers?

Well, this is really something Xara's developers should be seriously looking at.

Moved. I also sent a link to Xara and asked for a comment. But it is Christmas so probably be a few days if and when we hear back.

If you look at "Optimize Website" on Apache's Cpanel, you'll see the following:

    "Compress Content

Apache 2.0 and 2.2 allow you to compress content before sending it to the visitor’s browser. The types of content to be compressed are specified by MIME type. This feature requires Apache’s mod_deflate to function correctly. "

Assuming your site is hosted on an Apache server, compressing the content does significantly improve website speed performance score. Give it a try.

My ISP allows free use of CloudFlare that speeds up delivery of content world-wide.
Yes, there are very many web-tuning aspects Xara should engage in but not to the detriment of other "promised" graphic, DTP, font and colour management features.

Agree. But instead of adding a rash of photo filters that make a bad photo look worse and will only be used once or twice, these are real world features that should be included in a real world website design program.
