Default CURIOUS: With All The Discussion On The Xara 365 Model Can Anyone...

With all the discussion and unhappiness with the Xara 365 subscription model expressed on these forums, can anyone point to at least one or two 'decent' programs out there that one can create websites with? Please exclude Adobe Muse (subscription). I used it on and off for over three years, and when they finally got the damn thing functioning, you have to go widget happy to accomplish anything. (widgets all over the place) Also exclude blogging platforms and those garbage online 'Wix' or 'Weebly' types.

If using Xara to create websites, and looking elsewhere, where would one look? I'm talking about a desktop apps with a lot design control along the lines of Serif's WebPlus; which had the potential of developing into a 1st class powerhouse had Serif decided to continue development. Unless I don't know how to use Google or Bing or .... I can't find a damn thing worth more than a 30 second look n' leave. I've seen a few... real cheesy apps, but none close to the capabilities of Xara Web Designer, (XDP), ... or WebPlus

There is no other intention to this post other than what is asked above.

    Thanks
    Cliff

Dreamweaver, though again that is subscription.

I use Designer Pro X365 and to be honest ever though I have renewed my subscription I don't go to the Online Catalog for much. As long as you have the software, even if you don't renew, upgrade, re-up, whatever they are calling it you still have a good set of tools.

I'm trying to grasp what you're saying here but to no avail.

    WYSIWYG Web Builder. http://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com
    RocketCake http://www.ambiera.com/rocketcake/

My suggestion is to learn to code. In that vein, though there is a lot one can do without learning code, one really ought to / need to.

    Pinegrow https://pinegrow.com

I've used Pinegrow a good bit.

My top two picks are WYSIWYG Web Builder 12 also, because of all the features. And Website X5 13 Pro that has a great tree type page/site manager for large sites and built in features. The one con of X5 is you can only have one template/master page per project.

    Regards

(And yes I do have Serif, Xara 365, FrontPage, CoffeeCup RSD and others that have joined the Titanic.)
