Using a TRM in E3, and selection in PS. Rich
This was something I discovered in Expression while expirmenting with reflection maps. I almost missed it because it appears differently on screen. However, when you save to PNG, the graphic is transparent. I used the alpha channel to create a selection in Photoshop, and pasted an image into the selection. I made lots of maps in Xara X. These particular types look like grids. I thought of this while photographing the Brown Damselfly on a walk to town. Rich
Mike,
This is such an easy effect in E3. Basically, you need to adjust the embossing of the reflection map until you get a pattern you like. In E3, the transparent areas look black on screen, and you have to know this is going to be transparent in a PNG file. This type of map has transparent areas, and E3 flows the map into an object guided by the objects shape. Rich
Another example with some gel effect. Rich
Neat discoveries Rich. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

You are, for sure, an imaginative and funny man John!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif If anything Rich probably trips over his furry "kids" (Kai and Mook) from time to time taking pics of the beautiful nature that he is surrounded by. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Although after all this time, they probably know when to get out of the way, http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif But you would have to have Rich tell those stories, I'm pretty much in the dark about his life as a shutterbug!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif He does live fairly close-by but with no car and life being so busy it's hard for me to take trips so that's that! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
